Abel's Story.
|
Our son, Abel, was born unable to breath after a long and traumatic out of hospital birth. He suffered from Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) and spent 10 days in the NICU. I will never forget hearing his Neonatologist say that the sensation in his brain was the same pain that a drug addict goes through when detoxing.
It was the most traumatic and heart breaking experience of our lives. It did not just affect our son. Our finances, marriage, health and dreams for the future have all been brought to the breaking point. Abel is adorable, smart, unique and funny. We are so honored to be his parents. Our deepest hope is that we can use our struggle to help protect and strengthen others. A more in depth version of Abel's Story can be read on our Blog. |
